The Francis Bacon MB Art Foundation is taking part in the second artmonte-carlo fair, being held at the Grimaldi Forum from 29 to 30 April 2017.

For this occasion, the Foundation is presenting a series of graphic works from its collection (MB Art Collection).

Bacon’s first lithographs were published in 1966 by Galerie Maeght in an issue of the art magazine Derrière le Miroir that was entirely dedicated to Bacon and prefaced by Michel Leiris. In 1971, to coincide with his legendary retrospective at the Grand Palais, Bacon’s first numbered and signed lithograph was printed under the artist’s close supervision.

The graphic oeuvre of Bacon consists of nine etchings or aquatints including three “posthumous” ones, twenty-one lithographs and six “reproductions” produced using the offset technique.
