Press reviews
“Francis Bacon sort le grand jeu à Monaco.”
L’Express
“Francis Bacon version Bleu, Blanc, Rouge […]
Monaco Matin
“Francis Bacon, Monaco and French Culture, the summer exhibition at Monte Carlo’s Grimaldi Forum, is pure pleasure: visual, emotional, intellectual.”
The Financial Times
“The experience is exhilarating, the culmination of a show that is original, illuminating, immensely enjoyable and, I’d say, well worth the trip.”
The Telegraph
“Francis Bacon’s great gambles – both in art and in the casino – on show in Monte Carlo. […] Just for this summer Bacon’s work has returned to Monaco…”
The Art Newspaper
“The exhibition is an absolute triumph. Harrison has put his knowledge of all things Bacon – surely bettered after a decade of research for the catalog – and created a stunning non-chronological journey through Bacon’s oeuvre.”
Art net
“The exhibition illustrates the deep attachment that Bacon had to France, a country he first visited in his late teenage years and to which he often returned.”
The New York Times
“A major exhibition in Monaco reveals the British painter in a more Mediterranean light, showing how he drew inspiration from the French Riviera.”
Royal Academy Magazine
“A major exhibition that celebrates the years in the late 1940s and early 1950s when Bacon lived in Monaco and Southern France.”
The Financial Review Australia
